The Society is a volunteer non-profit organisation which is dedicated to the restoration of the Derwent Valley Line from New Norfolk to Maydena.
Chartered in November 1968 with 22 members, the current membership is 42 men and women, all working for the benefit of the New Norfolk community.
The memorial is a sandstone cross on a sandstone pedestal on a three-stepped base located in Circle Street outside the Council Chambers. It commemorates those who fell in WWI, WWII, Korea, Malaya, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Formed in 1939, the Brigade has developed into a fine organization of volunteer members comprising four officers two leading firefighters and eighteen on call fire fighters. These officers and fire fighters carry a Tasmania Fire Service alphanumeric pager and respond to call outs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The New Norfolk RSL is a social club for returned service people, their families and descendants, as well as members of the community
The Oast House served as a working oast house from 1867 to 1969. It has now been converted into a museum, gift shop, craft market and tea room.
